similar to theophylline

Stimulates the central nervous system
Relaxes coronary artery, increases the need of oxygen of myocardium
Decreases the reabsorption of natrium at glomerulus, causing diuretic

Good tolerance
Since Etophyl does not release theophylline, this drug does not cause side-effect of theophylline.

COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains:
Acepifyline

Excipients :
Microcrystalline Cellulose, Lactose, Hydroxypropylcellulose, CMC-Calcium, Magnesium Stearate, Talc, Light Anhydrous Silicic Acid.
DESCRIPTION
Pinkish Violet, round film

coated tablet.
INDICATIONS
Symptomatic treatment of dyspnoea in chronic bronchopulmonary diseases in the absence of respiratory decompensation.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Adults: 2 ~ 6 tablets a day, in divided doses.
Treatment in case of overdosage:
Gastric lavage and symptomatic treatment.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Children under 15 years old.
CAUTIONS

Use with caution in case of cardiac, coronary and hepatic insufficiency, obesity, history of epilepsy, active gastroduodenal ulcers, as well as association with some drugs (see Drug interactions).

Use in pregnant women:
Since there are no adequate studies for administration during pregnancy, this drug should be used in pregnant women and those who suspected of being pregnant only if the potential benefits out weigh the risks to the fetus.

Use in lactation mothers:
This drug is excreted into the breast milk, therefore this drug should be used with caution in lactation mothers.
SIDE EFFECTS
Rarely, nausea, gastralgia, tachycardia and palpitation may occur.
Immediately inform your physician of the side effects, if any.
DRUG INTERACTIONS

As a precaution, drug interactions of theophylline should be noted when using Etophyl, although studies showed that acepifiline is not metabolized to theophylline in the body.

Do not associate with troleandomycin due to the risk of potentiation.

Erythomycin, other macrolides and cimetidine can increase the concentration of theophylline in blood (if necessary, reduce the dosage).
