Against flatulance and meteorism.
Digestive disorders tend to be linked with excessive accumulation of gas in the stomach and intestine. The most common symtoms developing through these are a sensation of tension and fullness in the epigastrium, eructations, flatus.
Air-X SF offers a way of relieving such abnormal accumulation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract.
Air-X SF contains Simethicone, a substance which reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles and causes them to collapse.
Air-X SF brings noticeable relief of symptoms and removes the gas causing the flatulence. The active ingredient of Air-X SF is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract or interfere with gastric secretion or absorption of nutrients. Following oral administration, the drug is excreted unchanged in feces.
COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains:
Simethicone: 40 mg
Excipients: Colloidal Silicon Dioxide, Lactose monohydrate, Manitol, Polyvinyl pyrrolidone, Xylitol, Caraway oil, Fennel oil, Peppermint oil, Menthol, Magnesium Stearate, Talc.
DESCRIPTION
White, round, biconvex tablet, engraved “ AIR-X SF” on one side.
INDICATIONS
- Excessive acccumulation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract: sensation of pressure and fullness in the epigastrium, temporary meteorism usually after consumption of heavy meals of high carbohydrate foods or lack of physical exercise, postoperative meteorism, gastrocardiac syndrome.
- In preparation for X-ray examination (stomach, intestine, gall bladder, kidney) and before gastroscopy.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
The usual adult dosage is 1-2 tablets to be thoroughly chewed after meals; 3 times per day.
In preparation for X-rays give for 2 or 3 days before examination.
The dosage is adjusted according to the age and symptoms of patients.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this drug.
CAUTIONS:
Do not exceed 12 tablets per day except under the prescription and supervision of a physician.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Since Simethicone is an inert substance and is not absorbed into the blood system, it seldom causes systemic side effects.
Anyhow, immediately inform your physician of the side effect, if any.
DRUG INTERACTIONS :
No interactions of AIR-X SF with other drugs have been reported.
